About Me
I am… What am I, actually?
A writer? People are afraid to call themselves writers. The word itself, “writer”, simply indicates “someone who writes”. But that is not enough for some people. Maybe you need to earn a living from writing to have the privilege of calling yourself one. Or maybe you need to have published some books. Is 1 enough? But I am not one of those people. I like things straightforward. A writer is someone who writes. And I write. I write a diary since I was 12 years old. I write letters since I was 13 or 15. I used to write a blog and even wrote a book in a blog. I used to volunteer at a suicide hotline providing emotional support by writing, and even was a letter teacher there. So, I am a writer.
I have heard some people talking about programming in the same way as writing like you have to earn the name. You are programming and calling yourself a programmer? How dare you?! Well, like I said, I keep things simple. So sometimes I’m also a programmer.
A psychologist? Legally, I can call myself that. I have finished both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology and have the right to work as a psychologist. But at the moment, I don’t work as one. I am rather someone who is interested in psychology.
I am also someone who is interested in physics, philosophy, neuroscience, and some other topics. I am someone who likes traveling, reading, writing, coloring, making paper crafts, and some other hobbies from time to time. I am someone addicted to buying art supplies and books.
I am autistic and also have ADHD. I was diagnosed late – when I was 33, but it is a significant part of my life and personality. Autism and ADHD are drawing me in opposite directions. In the past, I often felt like I was a mixture of opposite qualities, and now I understand that’s really true and I know why.
I am a female, probably. Most of the time, I just don’t think about that. Also, I never associated with female stereotypes. There were times I wished I was born as a boy. But now I don’t think about it too much. I am also fine in my body, I don’t feel like it should be different. So I think I’m probably a female.
A leader? I am working as a Team Lead and I am successfully leading a team. I didn’t think I could be one, I thought I would be struggling. After all, due to autism, my people skills are somewhat questionable. But apparently, not everything is as it seems on the surface. There are some nuances that actually make me a good leader, and not despite my autism, but rather because of it.
I am a wife. A cat slave. I am a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a friend. I am a lot of things.
For you – I am someone who shares her own universe, filled with all those things that she is.
